The Masbate Conference hosted the 3rd
Summer Work Camp of the Visayas Jurisdiction Christian Young Adult
Fellowship. It was held in Masbate Evangelical Church – United
Church of Christ in the Philippines, Masbate City, Masbate on May
17-19, 2007 with the theme “Living Together in the Household of God
– The VJCYAF organization, nurturing its faith.”
Pastor Mark Augusto gave the Keynote
Message while Rev. Roboam Rey Bordaje delivered the Closing Message.
Both are chaplains of the VJCYAF. Present also was Ate Irma, the
East Visayas Program Coordinator who facilitated the lecture/input on
UCCP Statement of Faith.
Other activities included the
following: Church Work where the delegates helped in cleaning and
leveling the earthen floor on the new church site, Nutritional
Feeding among the VCS Children, Night of Fun and Talents, Evening
Worship and Acquaintance with the Congregation where one of the
delegates from Samar Island District Conference (SIDC) shared her
unforgettable journey in attending the camp where they were almost
lost sailing across Calbayog City in Samar to the municipality of
Cataingan in Masbate province, and island hopping on one of the
tourist attraction site of the city – a white sand bar called
Buntod Island.
The delegates coming from the two
jurisdictions namely the East Visayas Jurisdiction and West Visayas
Jurisdiction attended the VJCYAF Annual Work Camp. 30 official
registered delegates attended it. As part of the VJCYAF tradition,
the organization was able to extend financial help in the amount of
PhP 10,000.00 pesos to the on-going building construction of the host
church.
We extend our thanks to all who in
one-way or another have helped in the success of the gathering.
Likewise our gratitude to the host congregation headed by its Church
Council Chairperson, Mr. Magencio Masion and Pastor Ric Tinagsa, the
resident pastor and the representative of CM J. Espinosa of Masbate
Conference – Rev. Inhog, the DCM who welcome the delegation of the
camp. Thank you very much.
Bohol Conference will host the next
Summer Work Camp and the 2nd Biennial Assembly of the VJCYAF in 2008.
Praise God from whom all blessings
flow!
